Stephen Gilbert has supported calls for a public inquiry to look at health concerns and the 'single site solution' for the proposed Energy from Waste plant in mid-Cornwall.
Following a meeting of the St Dennis Incinerator Group on Friday 18th May, Stephen Gilbert said: "There is clear public concern over the possible health effects of an Energy from Waste plant in the middle of Cornwall - as well as continuing uncertainty that a 'one-site' solution is the best option."
"I'm no scientist, but I do believe that all the arguments need to be properly tested and a public inquiry is the most open way to do that."
"Both the cost and time involved in a public inquiry have already been accounted for, and I'm urging Ministers to get on with it sooner rather than later."
