ST AUSTELL: "ON TIME, ON BUDGET, AND THE SHOPS ARE OPEN"

October 29, 2009 10:00 PM
St A Open

St Austell's new town centre opened with thousands of shoppers keen to check it out

St Austell's prospective MP, Steve Gilbert, was today at the opening of the £75million redevelopment of St Austell town centre and said, "People in St Austell have waited awhile to hear these nine words: on time, on budget, and the shops are open."

The Lib Dem candidate, who attended the opening and spent the morning talking to the traders and shoppers in the town, added: "The mood among everyone is very upbeat and positive. The new development looks stunning and my hope is that the community now gets spending in St Austell. If we want it to be a success we have to back it at the tills."

If you are a resident of the St Austell and Newquay constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
