NEWQUAY & THE SEA COMMENDED BY MP

June 22, 2010 6:58 PM

NewquayNewquay's local MP, Stephen Gilbert, has commended the 'Newquay and the Sea' project at its launch earlier this week.

Stephen attended the launch, held in the Methodist Hall on Monday, of the biggest ever exhibition of Newquay's art and cultural heritage. The exhibition has been given space at the Methodist Hall, the Headland Hotel and the Atlantic Hotel for the following week and has been collected by the Newquay Society of Artists and the Newquay Old Cornwall Society.

Commenting on the project, Stephen said:

"I am proud of our Cornish heritage; it is one of the things that make our area so unique and special. That is why I was so excited to attend the launch of the Newquay and the Sea exhibition.

"The treasured paintings and artefacts highlight the strong relationship Newquay has with the sea, and I would strongly recommend that everyone who can goes along to see them."

If you are a resident of the St Austell and Newquay constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
