Stephen Gilbert, the MP for St Austell & Newquay, has backed the UK Youth Parliament's bid to sit for one day in the chamber of the House of Commons.
Commenting after the debate, Stephen said:
"I was pleased to support the UK Youth Parliament. The Youth Parliament empowers young people up and down the country to have an elected and representative voice.
"It was disappointing to hear a few MPs suggest that they shouldn't be allowed to sit on the Green Benches because of some archaic view. I'm looking forward to the Youth Parliament coming to the chamber and I'm supporting them all the way."
