Stephen Gilbert, MP for St Austell & Newquay, recently spent a morning with Newquay's 'White Watch' and praised the dedication and commitment of the town's fire fighters.
Speaking after the visit, the Liberal Democrat MP said:
"The time I spent with the brigade was a real eye-opener, people in that job face unique challenges and deserve our praise and backing. There's no doubt that it takes something special to put your life on the line in such a demanding and challenging job and I truly admire their commitment.
"In a town like Newquay where the sheer number of people has the potential to lead to a major incident, it's even more important that we ensure they have the resources and training they need."
