STEPHEN GILBERT MEETS RESIDENTS AT ABBYFIELD HOUSE

St Austell MP Stephen Gilbert recently visited Abbyfield house, which is sheltered accommodation for older people, where he learnt about their latest campaign "Companionship at Christmas".

Abbeyfield is a national charity with 700 houses for older people throughout the UK accommodating about 7000 residents. Its hoped that their latest campaign will make a real impact on combating loneliness this year, offering older people an alternative to spending the celebratory period alone.

Commenting on his recent visit Stephen said "Abbeyfield are a great charity doing brilliant work in the area and their latest campaign highlights this. It was a pleasure meeting residents from all other the county who all met up to enjoy the Christmas festivities at the launch of the campaign."
