Stephen Gilbert MP meets with Scouts during the Liberal Democrat Party Conference

Stephen Gilbert, Liberal Democrat MP for mid-Cornwall, has been appointed as the Secretary of the All Party Parliamentary Group for the Scouts Association.

Commenting, Stephen said:

"Since becoming an MP, I have been keen to support the work of the scouts and have met with the association and scouts from across the country on a number of occasions.

"The organisation does fantastic work in our communities and has a vital role to play in teaching young people new skills and providing opportunities that they may not otherwise be able to enjoy.

"I am delighted to be able to take a key role in the association's Parliamentary Group and look forward to working closely with scouts from Cornwall and across the country over the coming year."
